The Invitation-Only
Process (EOI to Visa)

01

Submit EOI

Lodge your detailed Expression of Interest through the official portal. Include your Resume, Form 1000 nomination, and evidence of global recognition.

02

Wait for Assessment

The Department assesses your calibre. EOIs are valid for 2 years. Top-tier candidates in priority sectors receive faster invitations.

03

Receive Invitation

If successful, you receive an official invitation. You then have 60 days to lodge your high-priority visa application via ImmiAccount.

What counts as "Exceptional"?

The Department looks for sustained, internationally recognized leadership:

  • Winners of major international awards (Nobel, Fields Medal, etc.)
  • Recipients of national-level research grants (ARC, NHMRC)
  • Inventors with patents of commercial or scientific value
  • Founders or executives of globally scaling innovation companies
  • Regular keynote speakers at major international conferences
  • Creative professionals featured on top global platforms

"This visa is awarded based on demonstrated impact, not potential. You must be currently active and internationally recognized in your field."

The Power of
Nomination

A core requirement for Subclass 858 is nomination by an Australian expert body (Form 1000). This confirms your eligibility and international calibre.
